Casa Colorado was by far the best vacation home I’ve ever rented. Perfect location, safe, clean, felt like a true home away from home. The pool with rope swing was great fun for the kids! I highly recommend this property.

Great house and location - perfect family getaway

We loved everything about our stay in Casa Colorado in Tamarindo! The house was perfect for two families of four with kids ranging in age from 6-10. The children loved the pool and rope swing, and the adults were very comfortable and made great use of the outdoor seating and dining areas. Everything was clean and well-maintained with super nice and helpful staff. We would not hesitate to return to Casa Colorado in the future. Tamarindo offers great access to multiple beaches, good dining options and exciting day trips. We had a relaxing and eventful week in fabulous Costa Rica.

Great house for a family vacation

Our family of 9 just got back from a week in Tamarindo. Although partial to the name because we are from Colorado ourselves, we were thrilled to stay at Casa Colorado. The top highlights for us were the property layout, the pool (the rope swing got lots of use) the location to shops,restaurants and the spectacular beach. The grandparents had their own space in the casita which worked well for everyone. We loved family dinners in the backyard and ring toss competitions. Definitely don’t need a car as town and grocery shopping is walking distance. “506 Transfers Company”, who was organized by our concierge team, also stopped for us on route from the airport at a large well stocked supermarket.
Specific to the house, it has a great open layout. There are a few aspects where it was a little tired (squeaking beds, chipped coffee cups, temperamental dishwasher) but nothing that truly impacted our trip for the price we were paying. Another thing to note for future travellers is the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking equipment but there are no pantry items (condiments, basket coffee filters etc.)
We did the Pure Adrenaline tour and a spa day at Los Altos De Eros. Both were 10/10
Overall a great holiday and experience for my family. We typically do cruises so renting a house was a new experience but something we will for sure do again in the future! If coming back to Tamarindo we would stay here again.

We had an amazing time here – I brought three teens and all enjoyed surf lessons, great food, and a diverse culture. We had an authentic dinner cooked in house that was amazing. There are a variety of great restaurants close by that you can walk to… we walked everywhere and felt very safe. This is a vacation that my family will always remember.

Fantastic Casa Colorado!!

Casa Colorado was everything we expected and more. A beautiful home and pool that 6 of us enjoyed as home base after a day at the beach. A private oasis that was only a short walk to town or the surf. We enjoyed several incredible meals from private chefs Frank and Andre…would highly recommend either of their services for a fabulous dine at home evening. What more can be said than a great vacation was had by all!!

Best Vacation Ever!

A group of 8 of us (4 couples) stayed at Casa Colorado in early August and we had the best vacation ever. We knew the house would be great based on the pictures, but let me just say the pictures don’t do it justice! Casa Colorado was perfect for our group, everyone had their own private bedrooms and bathrooms for when we wanted to escape but the great room and backyard were perfect for hanging out as a group. We all agreed that our favorite part was, of course, the pool! Great to come back to mid-afternoon after a hot day at the beach or take a late night swim after dinner! The monkeys and iguanas in the backyard were great entertainment throughout the week too!

No need for a car in Tamarindo, the house is a 5-10 minute walk to everything in town, 3 minutes to the beach and a grocery store. We also felt safe walking around at night and in the house itself.

Bob and the staff helped make sure our week was seamless–I would highly recommend taking advantage of the concierge service, they booked all of our excursions (ziplining, catamaran sunset cruise, a wonderful Costa Rican meal prepared in our home), helped with dinner reservations, and reserved all of our transportation to and from the airport. This was truly the vacation of a lifetime thanks to them! We hope to return!

WONDERFUL!

Our extended family of 10 stayed at Casa Colorado at the end of June for 10 days. Prior to arriving, I emailed back and forth with the property manager and concierge and they always responded promptly and answered all of my questions. Renting the house couldn’t have been easier. Bob , the property manager met us when we arrived and explained the ins and outs of the house. The kids immediately headed for the pool even though it was 10:00 P.M. The pool is absolutely beautiful and features a rope swing that everyone loved. The pool was serviced daily and very clean. The best part is that it is shaded by the trees in the yard and was a refreshing temperature despite the heat. Beach towels and regular towels are provided as well as bed linens. The kitchen was well equipped and came with everything you would need to cook a meal. There was also an outdoor grill. The house also has a alarm system which we didn’t always use, and 2 in-room safes. Lil, the housekeeper came every other day and was very nice and kept the house spotless, which was a feat in itself considering there were 5 adults and 5 children in our party. The house comes with a concierge which was a great feature. We used the concierge to arrange airport pick ups and returns as well as a fishing trip and having the chicas come in a cook us a Costa Rican dinner-YUM! . The concierge, Juan Ro, even drove us to the bigger grocery store to shop (there is a small grocery store within walking distance). The house is in the best location…5-7 minute walk to the beach and maybe 15 minute walk to the center of town. If you stay here you really don’t need to rent a car. All of the tour operators will pick you up at the house and all of the restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The only suggestion I would make for the home owners would be to look into buying new beds. Some of the beds were not super comfortable, but that in no way dampened our stay. I can’t say enough about what a nice stay we has at Casa Colorado. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful Home!

There were seven in our group that stayed at Casa Colorado for a week and we found it to be the perfect place for us. The property manager met us when we arrived to welcome us and show us the home. It is a short walk to the beach or the town and yet was a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. The people who cleaned the home and pool were meticulous and we were very happy with that. The backyard is literally a jungle. We really enjoyed hanging by the pool and watching the howler monkeys and iguanas. The home is beautiful and had everything that we needed for a wonderful vacation and we will stay there again if we can make it back to Tamarindo!

Great Vacation place!

Our family had such a fantastic stay at Casa Colorado! It was within walking distance of the beach, downtown Tamarindo and all the other amenities. Great Place! pura vida!

A perfect blend of a quiet secluded street and 2 blocks from everything! We spent 2 weeks, one with kids and grandkids(14 total) and needed 2 rooms next door at luna llena, and one week with 3 other couples. Very comfortable and we could have spent another week and still not been bored. Like everyone else we spent very little time indoors. Bob and Iris were great! We usually never want to go back to an area for a 2nd time, this place is the exception.

Amazing

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Costa Rica. We stayed at Casa Colorado with 2 other couples and two of our young adult daughters. The house was within 5 minutes to everything in Tamarindo, which was excellent for exploring the beach and town. We scheduled several tours and the drivers found the house with ease. The pictures are as advertised and the pool is spectacular (even our 68 year old friend was swinging from the rope). We loved watching the monkeys in the backyard. We cooked many meals at the house and found all the necessary utensils and dishes. Ingris was there every couple of days to clean, and the house was immaculate afterwards. Bob and Karla were great at answering our questions and arranging transportation from the airport.

We met Tico Miguel at Longboards (a local bar….great people and food), who arranged most of our activities, including a river tour and zip lining (11 lines…yikes!!). He is a great person and we all made a great new friend.
We did the sailboat cruise, which I highly recommend. Again, great people and the captain is a doctor!! You can reserve at the beach club.

If you want to relax on the beach, rent the beach chairs from Evan (yet another wonderful person). Only $25 for the day and it includes lunch!

I can’t say enough about Casa Colorado and the wonderful people we met in Costa Rica. We will definitely be back to see all of our new friends and would stay at this house again.

Fabulous. Fantastic. Outstanding. We wish we could have stayed.

Fabulous. Fantastic. Outstanding. What else do we need to say about our stay here. My wife and I had a wonderful time. Bob, the property manager was extremely helpful and present in any moment of need.

Firstly, let me say that we rented a different house, and fortunately for us it acquired water damage. Rather than just refund us and leave us wanting, Bob offered us the option of an upgrade on the house. And not just any upgrade, one that met the requirements of what we were looking for, privacy. Even with neighbors all around us, this house, for the high walls and gate, was very private. In fact, the house was not only private, but clean and spacious. The pool is incredible, and the outdoor space was fantastic. We spent very little time indoors. In fact, we only slept and ate indoors, every meal and every relaxing moment was spent outside, relaxing, reading, talking, and enjoying nature. The house comes with a daily pool caretaker and maid if you need them. Both of whom we lessened their days, as we didn’t need that much care. The house is close to town and the beach, so if like walking to the beach, you’re in for a treat. We also noticed a Spanish language school around the corner. Had I known in advance, I would have enrolled to enhance my spanish. On our last night in Tamarindo, the motor on the front gate failed. Bob and Veronica came over straight away, and before they starting working on the fix, Bob drove us to the restaurant we were headed to, and all was well yet again. Every house has a quirk or two, but in the scale of the joy we had, the quirks we found aren’t worth mentioning. When we return to Tamarindo, we’ll be calling Bob for one of his homes, and that’s a fact. Do enjoy.

Pura Vida! Wonderful Oasis in Tamarindo!

We were two families of 4 on our first trip to Costa Rica. We spent a week at Casa Colorado and the house was perfect – comfortable, clean and as beautiful as the pictures. The kids could not get enough of the pool and rope swing and we enjoyed watching monkeys from the lovely backyard. The staff was incredibly nice and efficient and responsive to all of our needs. The property manager and concierge helped us to plan our trip ahead of time – airport shuttle, groceries on arrival, a fantastic local cook for a meal in, dinner out with babysitting, massages, a surf guide, etc. The walk to the beach was short and the surfing fantastic. Even our 5 and 6 year olds were surfing! The Costa Rican expression “pura vida” is the perfect description of our time in Tamarindo and at Casa Colorado!

Amazing!

Our stay at Casa Colorado was epic. The location is fabulous – being a little tucked away from all of the bustle of Tamarindo – but close enough to be able to walk anywhere. The beach is a quick 3 minute walk from the house which was another huge perk. The house itself is beautiful and immaculately clean – same goes for the lovely casita. The pool and outdoor living area is a little slice of heaven. We felt safe and secure and only wish we could have stayed longer. It truly is a home away from home. Perfection!! Stop looking, this is the place you want to stay!

Our party of 9, four adults and five kids, stayed at Casa Colorado for two weeks in April and it was the vacation of a lifetime! The shuttle ride from LIberia was smooth as silk, and we were all blown away when we arrived at Casa Colorado. When the gate opened, we could not believe the oasis that awaited us…the pictures did not do it justice! The house is beautiful, with all the comforts of home. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need, and there is an outdoor dining area that easily seats 10. The bedrooms are all spacious with comfy beds, and the separate “casita” is really an added bonus. My family typically rents vacation homes instead of hotels, and we really like having a little separate place to escape to! We spent countless hours in backyard and pool area . The kids (OK, me) loved the rope swings, and there was plenty of space to spread out, lounge in a hammock, or strum the guitar. The howler monkeys often spend time in the trees right around the house…they were super fun to have around. The owner hooked us up with a great babysitter, who all the kids loved, as well as a personal chef who cooked for us one night. I never knew marlin ceviche could be so delicious! The location of Casa Colorado is perfect. A short walk into town or to the beach for a surf couldn’t be easier. Even with small kids, surfboards and a cooler full of Imperial Light, the walk was no problem. The owners gave us plenty of recommendations for places to surf and restaurants to eat…every meal was delicious but you have to try Bamboo Sushi and take a boat ride up the river to Bula Bula. Finally, while we never felt unsafe in Costa Rica, the security features at Casa Colorado were an added bonus. My wife is a bit a worrier, and sometimes doesn’t sleep well on vacation. Casa Colorado is safe and secure, with a top of the line security system, so we all slept like babies on this trip! Overall, Casa Colorado was the perfect house for us and a huge part of a memorable vacation…we will be back!

Beautiful home, charming, easy walk to beach and town

We loved Casa Colorado and the cute Casita! The home was very comfortable and fit all the needs/desires for our family of five! It was a 4 minute walk to Tamarindo Beach, as well as great shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The home is on a nice street that is quiet and very secure. Beautiful Home - Can't wait to go back!

My wife and our 2 daughters ages 9 and 11 stayed at this gorgeous home for 7 days over Thanksgiving. The home is stunning and spacious with a beautifully landscaped backyard which includes a pool and a rope swing. The home is set up perfect for families with everything you need. Large bedrooms that include their own private bathrooms, a magnificent dining area and a comfortable living room. The gourmet kitchen had plenty of room for us to prepare our meals and was fully equipped. The location is also perfect, just a short 5 minute walk and we were able to enjoy the GREAT food at the local restaurants on the beach. The ocean is ideal for surfing. Bob, the property manager, was able to get our entire family private surf lessons for 2 days. We had a wonderful stay at Casa Colorado and highly recommend this property – we will be back!

Great Time at Casa Colorado!

Casa Colorado was absolutely amazing! It was the perfect place for a wonderful vacation for our family of 4. We decided to split our trip into half the time in Tamarindo and half the time in La Fortuna. We chose to stay at Casa Colorado while in Tamarindo due to its proximity to the beach/restaurants and we were not disappointed. It’s literally a 5 minute walk down to the beach from the house. Actually it generally took us a bit longer as we liked to stop at Khahiki’s on the way (they have a great breakfast). You’ll find there are several great restaurants within a short walking distance. There is a surf shop right down the street – and one of the better beach access points straight down the street from the Casa. The house is fabulous! Very clean, spacious, contemporary and private. We actually found ourselves wanting to stay in the backyard as they have a wonderful pool that’s perfect for young kids. You’ll find you’ll have all the amenities you’d expect at any vacation rental; plenty of kitchen supplies, high-speed internet, great sound system – pretty much whatever you need. If they don’t have it, they have a nice staff that will certainly find it for you. While their English isn’t the best – they are more than willing to do whatever you need. Would we recommend staying at Casa Colorado? Absolutely! The next time we’re in Tamarindo, we’ll certainly try to stay there again.

The experience of a lifetime! We will come back to Casa Colorado every year!

Casa Colorado is stunning, pictures don’t do it justice! You walk into an spacious floor plan, beautifully decorated and very warm and welcoming. It was perfect for our 2 families to enjoy. The Casita was also beautiful, private, yet steps away from the main House. The property was cleaned spotless every 2 days, in addition to the pool. The kids spent hours in pool floating on rafts and swinging from the rope like the monkeys did! The patio furniture was great to lounge by the pool and a large table outside accomodated 12 of us to enjoy dinner poolside. The Property manager was extremely helpful in answering all our questions and helped plan our excursions. Casa Colorado’s location is brilliant! Five minutes from the beach, restaurants and shopping! We already have our vacation planned for next year!

Our ``Dream Home`` away from home!

My family has spent two extended vacations at the beautiful Casa Colorado in Tamarindo. In looking through these pictures, I am reminded of the hundreds of reasons that this is truly our dream vacation.
* The house is clean, spacious, and safe. I love this beautiful home! The pictures and descriptions accurately depict this amazing property. My husband and I stayed in the Casita which was truly our own retreat. The rest of our group stayed in the roomy and immaculate main house. The great room and kitchen are wonderful for entertaining and for large groups. My favorite area is the pool and patio. We spent many nights sitting at the beautiful patio table while our kids enjoyed the pool rope swing. The rope swings hangs from a huge tree above the pool that is also home to several howler monkey’s.
* The staff does a wonderful job of keeping this property very clean and well maintained. Jeffrey and Ingris both work at the home on various days. They are friendly, helpful, and do a great job for the owners of this home. We were always so thankful to come home to a clean kitchen, clean towels, and lights on around the pool.
* Casa Colorado is walking distance from everything. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach, to the store or to any of the dozens of amazing Tamarindo restaurants. One of our favorite restaurants, Kahiki’s, is just down the street. The beach is amazing and the restaurants and surfing are unbeatable. Even with children and older friends, we were able to take a short walk day or night for entertainment, surf, food, and fun.
Here is a quick list of things that make this property and our vacations so amazing:
* the house is so nice and perfect for our whole group
* breakfast at Kahiki’s, dinners on the beach (Langosta & Bambu Sushi etc.)
* dinners at home (full kitchen and outdoor table holds 10)
* surfing with Dilbert (local guy) or with Kurt (Bob can get you surf institute information)
* trip to Ricon – horseback riding, tubing, and zip-lining (Bob organizes everything and what an amazing day!!!)
* a day on Blue Dolphin or Marina DelRay – amazing boat trips with music, food, and snorkeling
* river boat trip to Bula Bula
* Enjoying the luxury of Casa Colorado with the comfort of home, the excitement of monkeys in the backyard tree and the gracious people of Tamarindo!
